Itinerary

Whale Shark Watching

I took an early flight from Manila and landed at Cebu Mactan International Airport around 6:00 am and took a cab and go directly to the South Bus Station, taxi fare is 200. Passed by to Elizabeth Mall and had a quick breaky in Jollibee and bought some snacks payed about 300 pesos and then hopped in to the Ceres Bus Heading to Oslob. If its your first time to visit Oslob , don’t forget to tell the conductor to drop you at ‘WhaleShark Watching”. The bus fare is about 200 more or less and travel time is 3 hours and can be little longer depending on the time of your travel. There are different resort to choose from if you wanted to stay in Oslob but since am just doing a day trip i went directly to the Briefing Center around 10.30am and luckily they accepted me, ( be there earlier as the last call is at 11:00 am only).

Entrance Fee for Snorkelling with Sharks for 30 minutes

  • Filipino Residents – 500 pesos
  • Foreign Nationals- 1000 pesos

*If you have bag with you you can rent a locker for 20 pesos. Better if you have our own lock as they don’t have a lock in that place. Be careful with ur wallets and belongings. Since its my second ime and the woman remembers me she volunteered to take care of my wallet and other valuables.Shes trustworthy.

*The snorkelling and swimming with the sharks starts as early as 6:30am to 12 noon only so better come earlier

*Its not allowed to use Sunblock as its harmful to the whalesharks. Some don’t even care and still use sunblock . Don’t be like them.Enjoy and swim with the Butanding

*Bring your own underwater Camera or rent there for a fee.

*Enjoy and swim with the Butanding but never ever harm them nor touch them.

Sumilon Island SandBar

12.00 noon after the Whale Shark Watching i supposed to just go to my next destination as Sumilon Island Boat Fee is expensive for me, luckily i met 2 other Filipino guys that wanted to visit the island and also looking for someone to join them in the boat so can lessen the fare. We agreed to go together and shared the fee of 500 pesos each total of 1500 pesos per boat round trip. It was 15 mins boat ride from the Oslob Whale watching to the Sumilon Island. 50 pesos for an environmental fee.

Sumilon Island is Private Resort but daytrippers can enjoy the beach just outside the resort and can use the public restroom for shower. The Sandbar is one of the best sandbar in the Philippines they said. Its child friendly too. There’s no Store to buy foods so its advisable that before you come to the island is you better bring some snacks and lots of water with you. We stayed here till 2:15 pm

Since i opted to stay one night in Lambug i asked the driver to drop me at the International Golf Club and then took a trike for 30 pesos to the Lambug Beach Homestay which i arranged prior to my arrival. The room is a dorm type room with 2 bunk beds and a bathroom outside. 400 pesos per bed for a night is a good deal. The room is clean and comfortable and lucky me only one guest that time when i was there. I arrived 5pm and tired. I had some dinner from the resto contact of the homestay for 200 pesos and i rested and sleep.

After a bit of walking around the Lambug Beach, i went to the Kawasan Falls. I took habal habal from homestay to the falls for 70 pesos. Upon entering the Kawasan Falls there’s an entrance fee of 20 pesos and a bit of walking like 500 meters or so. It was fun walking around this very beautiful nature. Even the weather is not that good and seems its gonna rain, i’m a bit lucky to witness and see this majestic place. Very beautiful landscape, emerald green water, green lush, fresh air, what else i could ask for. After 2 hrs i decided to go back at my Homestay and took minivan and habal habal for 40 pesos.
